Congress Just Held a Remarkable Two-Hour Hearing on Aliens | io9

Congress held a remarkable two-hour hearing on aliens. It’s a good thing, I suppose, for Congress to be looking for intelligent life in the universe rather than in Washington (sorry, I couldn’t resist). Maybe they ought to search “Extraterrestrials” on the Internet and read what people like Edgar Mitchell, the 6th man to walk on the moon, are saying. Look at it this way: The universe is 150 billion light years across. That would come out to be about 8.79854 sextillion miles, 8.79854 with 23 zeroes behind it, if my arithmetic is correct. So, what do you think? No doubt in that much real estate there freaking has to be intelligent life out there. We humans have just got to get used to the idea that we aren’t as special as we think we are.
