“How do I love thee, Wheatgrass? Let me count the ways.” ~William Shakespeare, more or less.
What can wheatgrass juice do for you? For one thing, it can improve blood disorders, probably because there is only a slight difference between the hemoglobin molecule in the blood and the chlorophyll molecule in the plant. Hemoglobin has an iron atom in the middle, chlorophyll has a magnesium atom. Wheatgrass juice is 70% chlorophyll. That kind of makes sense, doesn’t it?
So, what else? Reduces high blood pressure, rejuvenates aging cells, gives instant energy, increases the red blood count (there’s that blood again), cleanses internal organs, cleanses the skin, and more.
An ounce or so in a glass of apple juice makes for a palatable and healthy drink. Some folks drink it by the shot but, like drinking shots of whiskey, that’s a little too much for me. As you’ll see in the video, wheatgrass juice is easy to make. I suggest using an electric juicer, but you can also use a manual one.
Next time I’ll show you how to grow wheatgrass indoors.
Hi Dave, It was so nice to meet you. Steve and I really enjoy sneaking a peak at your garden. We would like to get a wheat grass juicer without spending four or five hundred dollars. Do you know of where would be best to find one?
Thanks so much,
Steve and Steph (Neighbor on Mall Rd.)
P.S. We love your site!
Steve and Steph,
Thanks for your compliment on the site. Feel free to sneak a peek whenever you want to.
As to juicers, the best I know of are the two linked in the last paragraph above which will take you to Amazon. The manual Healthy Juicer sells for around $50 and the electric is around $190. They both do a terrific job.
Dave
How much nutritional value does the wheat grass lose when you freeze them?
Good question! The experts tend to say that freezing doesn’t affect nutritional value. What I know is my wife drinks the frozen every day and she says it gives her lots of energy.
